Dr. Sunita DubeChairperson’s Desk:
Dr. Sunita Dube (MBBS, MD, DMRE, FRHS, FCCP, ADHA, PG.DND, DCH) - Dr. Dube is a practicing Radiologist and Founder Chairperson of MedscapeIndia. Fit India is one of the many initiatives of MedscapeIndia. It is imperative to understand the importance of health in today’s changing lifestyles. Various diseases and health problems are emanating today and affecting children as young as 10-year- old. Hence Fit India Movement is an important, path-breaking effort in the direction of promoting the idea of prevention than cure. This campaign encourages adopting a healthy lifestyle with focus on physical activities. The campaign also includes training program called Little Doctor Training Program which is a certified CPR and First-Aid training program for children. Our aim is to create a nation that leads a healthy lifestyle and gives importance to sanitation. Our focus is to highlight the importance of having a balanced diet, exercising for physical fitness and doing yoga for mental soundness. India is currently unable to provide health services to every citizen. So, Fit India highlights the importance of prevention to avoid medical treatment and inaccessibility. We also intend to promote ‘Yoga during Break at Workplace’ and indulge Corporates in our cause. Organ donation which is one of the noblest deeds is also a component of the campaign. Another important part of the campaign is the ‘Doctor’s Pledge. Here we are taking an effort to make Doctors’ service accountable. We are trying to develop a good doctor-patient relationship. I would like to acknowledge and appreciate each and every individual who has believed in MedscapeIndia’s dreams and has come forward to support and contribute with us in creating a healthy and well informed society.
